I've got the crud, sugars are up!

Well, that darned bug that's making the rounds found me and my hubby. We're coughing out guts out and drinking fluids, sleeping and generally feeling like doggie doo-doo. Woke up to a 127 this morning! The fever is really kicking up those sugars. Hope you all don't get it!

Unfortunately.... been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. After going through a couple bottles of cough syrup and various lozenges, a month later I finally got it checked out and by then it had turned into a full blown sinus infection (ears, nose, throat, and lungs :-( 2 weeks of antibiotics and I still don't think it's fully cleared up.

I am with you guys. I have a Dr appointmant tomorrow. I am not too bad, just enough to make managing my glucose tough and feeling a little bad. I want to nip it b4 it gets too bad though.

The stomach virus hit me three days ago and have been in bed with a bucket near. Lost 8 pounds in three days. I have been able to keep bg levels pretty good by sipping white soda. I feel awful. Hope it passes everyone by:)

Thanks Jeannie:) This a nasty one. I have the diet ginger ale. That stayed down for a short while. I can keep vanilla ice cream down and need it to keep bg levels up. Wow, this bug leaves you really weak and dizzy. Yes, the fingers are sore I am checking every time I get up. I lost 10 pounds with this and am drinking lots of water to rehydrate. Feeling some better but weak and low sugars. Plus we are in the middle of a snow storm with 12 inches already and more to come. Crazy winter all over. When do you stop losing weight so fast on the nothing white but cauliflower? I am not even trying to lose and lose about 10 pounds a month now. Thanks for thinking of me:)

Jeannie, I don't know what this is but it sure made me sicker than I've been in years. My heart was flip-flopping in my chest all week. I thought I was having a heart attack. It was hard to get the sugar levels above 60. I was literally shaking all over for days. I called the Diabetic Center and they told me to stop the Metformin and take only half of the Lantus and to drink Gatorade. My hubby stayed home to take care of me. I am on the mend but still really weak. I also had and have burning under my skin all over. What is this, do you know? Also, I was taken off Lipitor because it was eating my muscles. I got sick after I was off it for three days and threw up bile for days. Could this have been the problem? I see the cardiologist Thursday and will see what he says. My blood pressure has been low and my pulse running 95...like pressure 95 over 85 with pulse of 85 to 95. I was lowered from 10mg to 5mg of the med but it didn't help so I stopped it altogether myself yesterday and am starting to feel better today. My blood pressure is 126 over 68 with a pulse of 65 like it used to be and my heart isn't flip-flopping any more either. So maybe all this added up and sure didn't help. I never want to go through a week like this again. Thanks for all you concern and help:) Have a Happy Easter everyone!

Can you say salmonella? You should probably report this to your local health department. They may want a stool sample.
