Someone in the diabetes forum wrote he requested his doctor send his same blood sample to 2 different labs as he was concerned about accuracy. The doctor refused.
I would ring up another doctor and find out if he has a problem with my request. The one who has no objection see him even for this single instance. Or ask two blood test requests and you go to 2 labs yourself to draw the blood. The results go back to the doctor and you will get it.
Here in Australia I sometimes took patients I advocate for to another outfit for catscan or xrays etc although the request form was for some other service. They accepted it and Medicare covered it just the same if it was requested by the doctor to treat it as bulk billing.
I hired my doctor. Was let down to many times I decided to write a letter and asked if he/she is willing to assist me with my health issues I want to take charge of. he was willing. 5 years into it now I share information with hime which in his hands can do so much more good then in my limited one. he only asked that whatever I take to him be from credible sources. I requested in my blood tests items included he was not aware of. I make sure My requests are legitimate. We can't afford to just follow orders and better look for dedicated and able practitioners who are professional but act out their vocation.
