Red Dots On The Soles Of My Feet!!

I have these little bright red dots on the soles of my feet. Tiny, the size of a pinhead, if that. I don't have them anywhere else, just there. I have been struggling with BG level but I'm being better now. I'd ask my doctor but I just lost my insurance. Yes, I've been having some foot trouble but my doctor wasn't concerned about it last time I was able to go see her.

Does anyone else have/had these? thank you for your response.

Have you been walking barefoot?Do you have an indoors Pet?Any Medication or using a new Soap/Lotion/Laundry Detergent?How high is your Blood Sugar ATM (at the moment)?

I have been going bare foot a lot lately! My shoes are really uncomfortable after a while. But I've always gone barefooted a lot. My BG was 127, but it's coming down from consistantly being in the 180's and worse. I've recently gotten back on the band wagon. I have gone back on a medication that I hadn't taken in a while, Glyburide. I also take Metformin and Lisinopal which I had to pay out of pocket.

Then I would say it's going barefoot and I would read up on the Medication your taking.The Soles of my Feet become tender and feel rough when I go barefoot,which I do a lot indoors..

Not a nurse or a doctor or anything, but from the description it sounds like contract dermatitis--red bumps can be an indication of a reaction to something your skin has come into contact with. So, I agree with Sydnee.

There are no bumps at all. Really odd just the tiniest of pinpoint dots bright, really bright red. Like if someone took a ballpoint pen to the soles of my feet and just dot, dot, dot... No bigger than the periods in this post.-->:
Anyway, they're gone now. But they were scarey!! thank you for your posts. I've got my BG under control now but despite that I've noticed a lot of those pinpoint stinging pains in my calves and feet. I'm wondering if they're related to the strange dots.

Sometimes poor circulation can cause the little red dots on your feet. I get them when I sit at the computer too long and don't get up and walk around like I should. I have no insurance, like you, but I still call my doctor when I need something checked on. Does your doctor charge for a phone call? Maybe he/she could at least talk to you or you could make an appointment and pay out of pocket over time? You need to have the arterial pulse in your feet checked the next time you get to the doctor, for sure, ok?

That sounds logical! My doctor was with Kaiser so no, I can't call, sigh. I've applied for a community clinic program and I'll find out if I was accepted in about a month. I went to one doctor to get my perscription so I could get my meds. They're going to bill me. A bill which I plan to ignore until I'm accepted and then the program will pay for the visit retroactively...so they say.

I do have a job where I have to sit for hours on end, usually 3, in a crampt space that doesn't allow for me to get up. Plus, there's always the internet which keeps me sitting too. So what you're saying makes sense! I'll try to be more aware of it.

Have you asked your Doctor about giving free samples?I know of 1 Diabetes Medication (Actos) that Doctor's get from Pharmaceutical Reps,so there are probably more.Wouldn't hurt to ask!

Thank you but I got the prescriptions on the one office visit, took them to Target and filled them by way of my credit card so I'm good there, thank you. $4 each for a month's worth, can't beat that! This economy...man! If this were a political site BOY could I give you an earful!!!!! I listen to the radio too much, LOL. Life is frustrating to say the least.

Your welcome..if you ask your Doctor for free Pharmaceutical Samples,you could save that $4 for a Rainy Day! :-)

I take Lysinopril (not certain about spelling but I think the same as yours) to help the heart stay healthy; often used for diabetics I'm told.

Anyway, if you have a prescription that can be moved, you might take a look at Wal-Mart. It is on their $4 drug plan, NO INSURANCE NEEDED for the $4.

That gets me a 30 day supply. If you have a prescription for 3 months, it is $10, NO INSURANCE NEEDED.

I hope this isn't seen as 'advertising'. This is a HUGE savings for many of us, and may make the difference of getting a needed medication or not.

I get the Lysinopril and Metformin, each $4 for 30 days. Fairly sure that is all Wal-Marts but I'm not certain.

Hi everyone. I am in Chicago and I have a wonderful free community clinic that I go to.

And for now I get everything free, but when I start back to work I will get a sliding pay/charge scale. They simply hand you an envelope and you simply put in it what you can afford. They call this a donation. Even if its only a dollar.

There are ways to get free meds if you make less than a certain amount of income. One just needs to ask around during their health professional visits.

A good place to start gathering this information also is to go to your local Department of Human Services.

Take a book and some snacks and drinks because the process will take several hours. So get there early. First come first served and the line begins usually a half hour before business opens.

Of course take your medical and prescription info. Your clinic, once you are accepted will also help you with this as well.

Once I was established in a community clinic and professionally diagnosed by their doctors, I was prescribed the meds that I had been taking. Only now I get them free with a prescription from the clinic.

I went to a Cook County Community Hospital Pharmacy to place my first order. After that I just phone in my order and have all my refills mailed to me.

I did have to register there for a "medical card" called an L.O.L. Card (Limited Liability). This just shows my inability to pay for services and meds.

Funny thing is if I go pick up the meds there is a $3.00 per script fee. Not to exceed $10.00 (for more than 3 scripts... I have 5 pills I take for my Type2 and residuals).

I don't pay a dime for anything.

Of course, remember, it's a long tedious process so get started a.s.a.p. But once every thing is in place it is an awesome blessing.

I used to buy my own test strips for my glucometer too, but when I lost my job I could no longer afford those. My clinic provided me with a new glucometer for the test strips that I can get from them free of charge. The only thing I have to pay for are the lancets - which are super cheap. Like about $10 for 100 of them.

I had to see their nurse to confirm that I am keeping up diligently with my care and show that I've been taking my meds diligently, and I had to sign up for classes but that is OK since I need to learn more anyway.

I've seen an endocrinologist, podiatrist, optometrist, neurologist, and of course my Doc of Internal Meds.

What ever blood tests, A1C tests, neuropathy and eye exams, cardiovascular, what ever I or they feel I need. My next exams will be to check my calcium levels and for osteoporosis. This is due to a recurring pain that comes off and on from a 11/2 year old ankle fracture

Knowing that Diabetes affects my body's ability to immune itself, and my previous unhealthy lifestyle, I am being checked out for every little concern. They usually initiate it. And today that's OK. I used to be the type of person to only go get medical help if I felt I was dying - by way of emergency room.

And now I welcome my meds and this forum. Let the adjustments begin. I'm finally taking things serious.

What ever I need they will provide and for free, or at a significantly reduced rate once I begin working again.

Caveat... Not all clinics are created equal, so shop around.

One other thing, I am getting other meds free directly from the pharmaceutical company with help from my health care providers and a free medical program that I applied for through another one of my clinics.

I just need to show proof of lack of, or little income, the doc's credentials, and a 3 month prescription from them. I will receive a three month supply and will have to reapply every three months but it's worth it to get the free and reduced price meds.
