I'm new to the Diabetes forum, but I frequent the Lyme Disease forum as I have that too.
I had a 2 hour glucose tolerance test done in April. The results were 9.9mmol/178. I asked for the test because I had symptoms of hypoglycemia. I was shocked at this result! My BMI is 18 and I'm 30, doesn't make sense.
Started seeing an Endo this month and she tested me for islet cell antibody (negative), C-peptide (1744), insulin random (284) and glucose random 9.8/176. This would suggest insulin resistance, right?
I also have frequent episodes of hypoglycemia going as low as 2.2/39. This usually happens 2-4 hours after my first meal. My fasting glucose is almost always 4.5 and my a1c is 5.4. My highest meter reading was 14.7/265
Now I'm experiencing pain on both sides under my ribs. Endo thinks it could be gallbladder/and or pancreas. She is scheduling me for an ultra sound to see if there's something going on there.
I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this in their case, or has heard of any others who might be experiencing this.
My Endo is baffled. She seems very commited to find out what is going on with me. I don't fit the profile of type 2 and I definitely don't have type 1.
