Daily blood sugar and A1C

I always want to figure out the link between daily blood sugar number and A1C. Now we have a new formula to convert A1C to average blood sugar.

What if I test 24 times a day, say test very hour and divide the total by 24, will that number be very close to my eAG? The assumption is we pretty much maintain our daily routine (food, exercise, sleep) the same for 3 months.

any thoughts?

Mip, in theory, I suppose that would really be an average blood sugar, but omg who would want to test 24 times a day for 3 months?  smhair    Poor thing!  You'd be sore more than I want to imagine.  Here's the website for the equivalents.  And also, a reminder that you can get an A1c test kit at Walmart for $9.00, postage paid.

No, I don't mean to test 24 times per day. That would be way too much.

If we spread them over say, 6 days, and keep our daily routin consistent, I think we would get an average number very close to A1C.

Yes, I would think it should come close.  For example, you would need to get readings at various times of the day (and certainly not in the same day!), a few morning fasting, a few before and 2 hours pp after breakfast and other meals, between meals, before bed, empty stomach, after exercise (if you do that regularly), etc. random readings and then average them.  My meter gives me a 14 day average so that part is already done but I haven't been testing myself at random times.  And, of course, we have to account for our meters being off accuracy by some percentage.
