hi everyone, I wanted to know what you think is the meter to use?

I use reli-on from Walmart that I pay out of pocket for.. My HMO says to use Contour, but I don't have a perscription for test strips, because my doctor says I'm pre-diabetic and don't need to test that often. >:(

I have Accu-Chek Aviva and CVS home brand (TRUEtest). Aviva is always 5% to 10% lower than the CVS meter.

I have had Aviva for 2 years and the results are very close to the lab ones. I trust Aviva, not CVS.

I use freestyle because it only uses a teeny tiny drop of blood.  I used to use the Aviva, that uses a lot more blood.  Both are very accurate.

My diabetic educator gave me a freestyle lite. I like it. My True Track I bought from Walgreens was consistantly 30-40 points higher than the Freestyle. Doc said to use Freestyle. Lower readings are usually the accurate ones. Educator told me that too.

I think the CVS homebrand and Walgreens homebrand are made by the same company. I am glad to hear that it is higher than Free Style.  My CVS device is always 5% to 10% higher than my Aviva.
