does metformin cause pain?

been on metformin about
3 months. I noticed my pain lavels are elevated and my breasts are killing me. is this a known side effect?

Welcome to the forum Merrygirl. I don't know if what you're experiencing is from the metformin but you should tell your doctor about
those symptoms because you need to find out what's causing them. Don't wait. Call your doctor please.

Metformin caused me pain too, right side of my body, hand, hip and leg. The doc said it was not metformin, but when I stopped it the pain went away. I am on Diamicron now.

thanks for the information. I suffer from chronic pain so its hard to say what is what.

That's true. Sometimes a pharmacist can give you more information about
drugs' side effects, too. But it's important that you try to figure it out. Good luck.
