Okay, some confusion here...
My doctor wanted my fasting BGL to be under 120 (I have reached this with fasting BGL from 90-110) and 2 hour PP below 160 (I have reached this with most 2 hour PP being below 130). Now, I go on some diabetic forums and read and find so many people who feel that this is not acceptable and the ranges should be at or below 100 most of the time. Today I was fighting to stay above 70 much of the afternoon and after a snack of a half a small bun (9 mg carb) and about 2 tsp. peanut butter and it raised to 100 at an hour PP. I did not feel good in the 70's but even so, lets say my bgl was at 70, I can't imagine how little I would have to eat to keep it under 100 all day. I am already eating as little as I feel I can and stay healthy. I know exercise would help but I am still recovering from surgery 3 weeks ago and am still restricted on activity. I have cut out most carbs and can count on my one hand how many pieces of bread I have had in the past month. I get most carbs from veggies/fruit and stay at 4 or less carb servings a day. A couple of days I had more servings, like 6 or 7 and I could tell in my bgl readings as they were much more elevated on those days. What are your thoughts on this? To me, I will follow my doctor's orders but feel like maybe I am not doing as well as I should/could after reading other's posts.
