neuropathy10,
It's so common for us to get depressed with diabetes. I also have for years suffered with anxiety. Sometimes in the night I will wake, have a panic attack, and have to get up and pace around. No matter what I do it doesn't seem to abate until the next morning. My partner takes a medicine at night that makes it hard for him to wake and talk me down, so I am trying to learn how to deal with it. I've been taking Buspar which seems to help and it is not a benzodiazapine (addictive). I have to still work (I'm 54) and sometimes in the mornings I don't want to take a shower and get ready to go. BUT, almost always I'm glad I do because the activity makes me feel better. If you can't shower, just wash your face and work on getting dressed. Being with other people helps take my mind off of all my problems. If you can do this, you might get some relief and can focus better on managing your diet.
