Hi there, A3. I should have read your signature more closely! Yes, stress and physical pain can raise blood sugar. And blood pressure probably. Also, some medication can do the same thing. Steroids and hydrochlorothiazide (a "water" pill frequently prescribed with other BP medication) can raise blood sugar. Food can do that too, especially the simple carbohydrates like bread,
cookies, cereal, potatoes, rice, etc. I imagine it's hard to balance a diet for Crohn's and diabetes at the same time.
Can you walk and do other kinds of exercise? Going for long walks will help the blood sugar as well as blood pressure and maybe help with stress, too.
You might ask your doctor if he thinks that taking an oral medication like metformin can help. Since you are type 2, it's possible you are also insulin resistant.
