NAUSEA WITH DIABETES

My husband has been a diabetic for over 40 years, he's almost 80, and lately he's been waking up in the morning with nausea and his blood sugar may be close to 300 when it happens. Is the nausea a result of his blood sugar being near 290? He takes both Novolog and at nite he takes Lantus.

Hello and welcome. Yes, the nausea might be because of the blood sugar. In fact, his blood sugar to much too high. It's critical. Please have his doctor re-evaluate his meds because being in the 200's can damage his health. What is he eating?

It is also possible that he may be suffering from gastroparesis. In either case he needs to be seen by a doctor.
