I think you should be taking more control of this. Blood sugars that high for a certain period of time can damage your eyes, heart, kidneys, circulation and nerve endings.

Basic control of blood sugar starts with your food, and this is true for any type of diabetic. The more carbohydrates you eat, the higher your blood sugar will be. It's really that simple. I do not count carbs at all because I don't eat bread, rice or potatoes or anything with sugar.
Eat a decent piece of protein (meat, chicken, fish), lots of leafy greens, most vegetables but not potatoes, some low fat dairy.
Keep a food journal everyday. Write what you eat and what your blood sugar is before eating and about
two hours after eating.
