It's my feet and ankles. I developed Charcot foot, where the bones demineralize and soften, then slowly recalcify in strange shapes. My feet have all sorts of interesting bumps and protrusions on them, and the soles of my feet have a convex curve instead of the normal arch ("rocker-bottom feet") Often they would hurt much worse sitting than either standing or walking. Unlike the "pins and needles" description in the TV ads, mine felt like a truck was parked on them and someone was hammering spikes into they randomly. I have some limitation of movement in my ankles because of the deformities.
Day 6 of Gabapentin, and I can definitely tell it's helping. Tomorrow I go to taking it twice a day instead of once, hope it will be just that much better then.
Lanie, I've never slept really well in my life, but my feet aren't keeping me awake now. I take a Tramadol at bedtime, and that takes care of my feet and pretty much the rest of my pains for the night. So I'm sleeping about normally for me. Thanks for asking.
