<I am more of a pre-diabetes rather than diabetic, so my bs level is not that high. Tthat said, here is what I do for breakfast.>
I tried various cold cereals with skim milk and soy milk, and post-breakfast bs is relatively high. I now like to eat oat meals with skim milk or soy milk. Make sure you use the old fashioned slow cooking conventional oatmeal, and do not overcook them. Less than al dante is best. DO NOT USE the instant type, it's pure sugar and will make your bs shoot up.
I also eat two egg whites; yolk coresterol is really no good for us. I will not touch bacon or sausage although I love the smell and taste of it, but we know better now. The saturated fat and colresterol will kill us before the sugar does its job.
Plus half a grapefruit, its acidity makes it one of the low glycemic index fruits. The more sour, the better. I used to hate any sour food, including sour dough bread. But now I love anything sour. It's all in your head. Learn to love sour stuff. The sour stuff slows down the digestive process and brings down the GI.
And green tea.
