Hi everyone, I am thirty and have type 1 diabetes since age 13. I now have Retinopathy in the right eye with two operations. The pressure is so bad behind the eye that total darkness and ice packs is all that is left for me to use. Is there anyone out there that can give good advice? Thanks Trini.

Hi wrm! I am type 2 also of 29 years. I am having problems with GERD (reflux) and it has sent my FMS over the top. My sugar has remained very good though. I also have to be on a GERD diet.
I have diabetic neuropathy in my feet. The main thing to do is to try to keep your sugar as close to normal as possible. Because of your crohn's, that is really going to be hard.
You just do the best you can just like the rest of us do with multiple illnesses/conditions. It gets really hard. I've gotten to the point where I've been on this Nexium for GERD for 4 months and I'm still having problems. So, I'm going to quit it tonight and see how I do. I'm going back on Pepcid AC for acid as I am having a lot of side effects from Nexium.
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck. What meds are you taking for the crohn's?
Hugs,
Faye
