You you have this problem with byetta?

OK...I have been on byetta 5mcg 2x per day for 9 days...when I go to eat, the thought of food makes me ill, or i have absolutely no appetite. Like this morning, we went for breakfast, and i sent it away the minute I got it...just looking it made me sick...i know I have to eat...and i do but it is hard!!!

Actually I posted something very similar to this. I've been on byetta 5 mcg for almost a month. I've lost 20 lbs and can't eat anything and what I do eat I throw up usually. I don't know what to tell you but I'll be checking in on this thread. Hopefully someone will know something. Maybe Warren, the biggest Byetta advocate around, will know something.

Thanks! I appreciate your answers! Thank god i can keep my food down! I know everyone wanted to keep all byetta threads together but i was afraid this would go by unnoticed

Hi Lex and Vegas. I have had the same problem when I first started using Byetta. Felt like morning-noon & night sickness! The doc gave me phenergan which helped but also made me very sleepy. Pepcid AC helped alot too. This stopped after about 3 weeks....just bam...it was gone! When I went up to the 10 I had a few days of ickiness too, but nothing too bad. I found that if I ate immediately after taking the shot it didnt get as bad. Even if it was just a few almonds or crackers. Hang in there!! It is SO worth it. My numbers are the best ever! I have been using Byetta for about 3 months now and have lost over 20 lbs. Still have about 40 to go, but this is the best I have felt in 2 years!

I don't take Byetta, was thinking about it, but when I did a search on it and it took me to a site where 100s of people posted about the side effects from Byetta I decided not to take it.  But, a WHOLE LOT of people have the same side effects as you are having so you are not alone. 

The losing weight sounded enticing to me but I couldn't even handle 1 week of sickness when I was pregnant with my son so I didn't think I could handle months and months of it.  Hope it works for you though.
