Hello and welcome Courtneypaige,
I think you need to take action to tackle the high levels - please see this link
http://www.healingdaily.com/conditions/triglycerides.htm
It gives you an explanation and also tips on how to lower your levels. The following is a part of it:
High triglycerides in the blood are often seen in overweight people. But even people who are not overweight may have stores of fat in their arteries as a result of insulin resistance. These triglycerides in the blood are the direct result of carbohydrates from the diet being converted by insulin. These triglycerides do not come directly from dietary fats. They are made in the liver from any excess sugars which have not been used for energy.
Basically, it looks like you need to cut out a lot of refined starches and sugars from your diet and go for low gi and veg etc (please look up the Glycemic Index on the net - it's basically foods that have a slower affect on the rise of your blood sugar). Please go back to your doctor and get this in check. Did you doctor check your blood glucose levels? I'd get this checked too, just in case (although I'm obviously not a doctor). The thing about diabetes is it's progressive if not treated properly or kept in check so please, if you are risk of getting diabetes, jump on it early!!
Let us know how you get on!
