We had one at our hospital where I took my nutritional training but other than the ongoing recipe and food plan ideas I didn't find much support there. Many diabetics, once they get a handle on the disease, like to move on and kind of put it in the background of their lives. Talking about it doesn't make it better and so they sort of ignore it... It's almost like they are ashamed of having diabetes.

That's why I liked this place. I could ask a question about my injections or a medication cost and ten people would come forward with helpful ideas. Plus, here I could read back in the posts and learn a lot of stuff without openly exposing my ignorance to the world (LOL!) I've learned a ton just by reading here. Everyone cuts to the chase and gives the bare facts without any extra flowery stuff. I like that.
