Donna ... you read my mind!!
Personally, I want to stick with diet/exercise for as LONG as I can for a variety of reasons.
1. If ALL my scores are low enough then it is NOT the first course of action.
2. Financial ...
3. I have a very sensitive system. Any time I introduce a drug it takes me a long time to adjust to it.
Those are just some of the reasons. I DO want to be prescribed meds if they would be the best thing for me!
Other than the expense (I have good medical insurance) those are my reasons also. I do take meds for my blood pressure, as I was unable to keep it down myself, and I take a cholesterol med, and that I am hoping will be temporary. I have been through cancer, and have had chemo and radiation, and I am cautious about
meds that affect your liver. I have a friend who has cirrosis (spelling) and it is believed the diabetes meds she was on effected her. I have been having good numbers lately, so hopefully when I show the doctor my meter readings he will think I am ok. I am what my friends says is, "Selectively Compliant" LOL Donna
