Well I tried it. What I found is peanut butter sends my sugars up and banannas don't. With the combination I have consistently higher readings, but if I eat a bananna at night my readings are lower.

Readings so far are excellent!
79, 101 (after bean salad with dinner), 89 and this mornin 87.
This is one ripe banana with about 2 tablespoons of crunchy peanut butter (cheap store brand) smeared all over it and relished one bite at a time. I follow this with a glass of water.
Present meds for diabetes.
Metformin 1000 mg am
Metformin 850 mg pm
Lantus insulin, 15u sub cu at bedtime
Food Plan
No starchy carbs, only fruit and vegetable carbs
Occasionally pizza crust carb (usually on Fridays)
I certainly would like it if others might try this and see if it works for them in lowering their morning sugars. We may be on to something that could help a lot of people. I know this is a very unscientific way to do a study but I would appreciate it if only people who are trying this experiment would post in this thread. Please try it tonight, and tomorrow morning get a fasting blood sugar and post your present meds and food plan along with it below.
