Marburg,
My daughter experienced a spinal cord injury from the loosening of her joints as her body prepared for birth. An old (undetected) back injury caused the disk to bulge when the bones got loose. Doctor expects that as the joints tighten up her injury should heal. I came to help her when she was put on bed rest and have been here since the 10th. I ran out of meds, no test kit, she got induced, lost the ability to walk, came home from the hospital and now we are dealing with a wheelchair. Somewhere in all the excitement I lost sight of my sugar numbers but hubby came to the rescue with test kit and meds.
I'm so glad that I have some kind of food plan in place. I'd have probably gone bonkers without it. Other than a severe lack of fresh veggies I've been able to sort of stay on track, even with fast food. That $1 menu at McDees is ok if you put the meat from a chicken sandwich on a side salad. Not perfect, but great when you are driving back and forth to the hospital. I also started keeping a bag of apples and a jar of peanut butter in my car for snacking while driving. .... This has just been nuts!
