This has nothing to do with my diabetes.  I am facing 2 operations (hernia and possible female surgery).  I am scared to death it may be cancer.  I would appreciate any and all prayers.

Sometimes it feels like I just can't keep my head above water.

Marburg: Sorry to hear about your upcoming surgery. But my prayers will be for you and I am confident you will be OK.

Put your faith in God and ask for his healing and it will be done. His word says , "by his stripes you are healed."

I am really having a hard time right now. For the past 3 years I dealt with terminally ill parents and a knee surgery. Now, just when I was beginning to feel things were turning around I get this double whammy with 2 operations in the near future and a possible cancer. I don't know what is going to happen and I have no one to really turn to--I live alone.

Sorry for the outburst--I'm just feeling really down, and scared.

HI,  I am sorry to hear about your troubles.   You do not say what kind of cancer.  Do the doctors already suspect it?  What kind of tests did they do?  Three years ago I went in for a colonscopy, routine test, and my whole world changed.  They did find cancer, but you know what, it has not been the end of my world.  Cancer is not the beginning of the end anymore.  There is so much that they can do.  I have friends who do not have cancer, yet their health issues have been more of a quality of life issue than mine (IMHO)  I am sorry you are facing this alone.  Do you have friends with you, if not family?  You do have the wonderful people here, they are all so supportive.   I pray that all goes well for you and you do not have cancer, and you will recover from surgery fast without complcations.  If for some reason you do have cancer, do not loose heart.   We will pray you will come through it all ok.  I know it is scary,  every time I go for a check up, that word cancer does jump up and try to scare me all over again.  I do have faith in God, and above all I know He loves me, and I know He loves YOU! Thank you Donna. Your kind thoughts are a big help. They suspect there might be a possibility of cancer either ovarian or uterine. This is based on an abnormal ultrasound which showed cysts where they rarely occur. I'm scheduled to have a biopsy and a bunch of other tests next week.

I went through this once before 9 years ago. For some reason it is much harder this time around. I guess part of it is that my support group is so much smaller this time around.

Marburg, I'm praying that your biopsy and other tests come out fine.  Hang in there and please let us know what's going on.  You have a support group here even if we're through a computer and not 'in person'.  We do indeed exist!

I will put you on my prayer list. I hope it turns out to be cysts in odd places- but there is so much that can be done now in the cancer arena, especially when it's caught early. Surgery sucks, but we girls can live without our ovaries and uterus. I'm sorry that you are alone. I will be happy to support you here as much as I can.

Marburg, I will keep you in my prayers. I know how scary this can all be. I go in on the 20th for a scope of my bladder. I'm about 98% sure they are going to find nothing...it's usually old men who smoke that get bladder cancer and I fit neither description. But there is still that little nagging in the back of my mind. At least once you have the surgery you will have the answers and then you can deal. For me, it's the not knowing. Once you know you can plan. Keep good thoughts, girlfriend, and things will work out!! God bless.

Thank you fergusc and Christie. On the plus side of things my sugars are in the best shape ever with numbers in the low 80's to 120.

Just wanted to update everyone. There was no hernia. The female surgery found benign polyps which were removed. The cysts are simple and all they are going to do is monitor them for now. EKG was a bit abnormal but cardiologist said there was no real change from my previous tests and the readings were due to my Acid Reflux.

All that plus my BS numbers keep dropping since I started Januvia in October.
