Article in our local paper about
a Michigan State University professor, Dana Spence, who is doing research into how C-peptide, which is produced along with insulin in normals (and not at all along with no insulin in Type1's) helps relax blood vessel walls and reduce platelet clumping. In other words, they may be soon adding this to insulin to help Type1's maintain good circulation and prevent poor circulation which is the number one cause of amputations. He is just starting on this road of research but at least there is some hope here for new break thrus.
