I got a call today from my doctor.

Cholesterol- total- 187 smilewinkgrin     bad cholesterol- 120 mad   I'm on 40mg now and they want to go higher!

FBG- 119 :-)  Seven points down from last reading! smilewinkgrin

Thyroid down to 0.5 shakehead . I guess my medicine will be cut now.

Now what?

You may or may not be placed on a diabetes med... depends on your doctor. I found that when I cut my carbs in my food plan I was able to ditch the Nexium. My GERD just sort of went away. I had run out of meds and the GERD went away before I could get the doc to write a new script.

As far as the cholesterol lowering drugs go, they do the job so I wouldn't kick about taking them, long as you can afford them. I take Flaxseed oil in the morning and fish oil at night and that has helped me, along with my oatmeal.

As long as your numbers are getting better you are on the absolutely correct path. Don't be discouraged if they aren't perfect. You are on your way so KOKO! (Keep on keepin' on!)

They called back today.. I start Vytorin soon. No Blood sugar meds! :)
I take double doses of fish oil everyday (doctor recommend).
My GERD won't go away- weak valve. I'm going to have surgery in December for it.

Surgery is not fun. I'm sending prayers. Please remind us all when the time is near so we can be thinking about you, ok?

Thank you, I'm getting a new surgery called the EsophyX TIF. It's not as bad as the Nissen.
