I really am in a mess now. I not only have no legs and need to use a wheelchair to get around, That doesn't bother me I'm used to that. I now have this nice big cast on my left arm from close to my shoulder to over part of my hand. My husband and I were in an auto accident last Thursday 11/12. A guy ran a red light and hit the front left corner of the car spinning us around. Not all that serious for the car, it's repairable, but the car was not drivable and needed to be towed. My husband was helping me out of the car into my wheelchair when I slipped and fell onto the ground breaking my arm along the way. It was a dark rainy evening and we had just been to the grocery store to pick up a few things. The doctors told me I'll need this cast on my arm for six to eight weeks and some therapy after that. I broke it pretty good he said. They had to operate and insert a rod in my forearm. I'm glad it wasn't my right arm that I use to write with and such. My arm is in this big cast and just hangs there in this sling. I'm not supposed to use it for anything for at least a two or three weeks. Then it still can't put any weight on it to help me transfer from my wheelchair. It's been a real ***** trying to transfer from the wheelchair to the bed or toilet with only good arm. Needless to say I been spending a good deal of time either lying in bed or in my wheelchair. It's just too hard to try to transfer onto the sofa or recliner yet. The cast doesn't come off until the week after Christmas at the earliest. Most likely the first week of January. Needless to say I can't drive my van with only one good arm so I' m kinda stuck at home. I'm bored already. I hate to think of what I'll feel like in a few weeks. My husband did say he would take me out shopping or other places again when I'm ready. I will keep in touch but it's a real pain trying to type using only one hand.

I will think about you and pray for a fast recovery.
I was very busy over the holidays with relatives coming and with my arm in that big cast I really had a hard time doing many things including typing My daughter was here for a week at Chirstmas and that was a big help I let her do most all the cooking with my direction. She did a good job of it too. The cast came off the week after New Years and I have been going to PT twice a week since then. I have to go till the end of January. The arm is healing very nicely and most of my strength is back in it, which is very good. It has been very hard for me to transfer from my wheelchair using only one arm. I found out if there is a will I will figure out a way to do it. Almost slipped a couple of time till I got the hang of it. Will keep in touch now that I can type with both hands again.
