You can get a meter and strips anywhere for very little cost. No rx needed. Do a finger stick when you feel lowish. Put that result in your log for the docs to see too.
And if you are below 70, do the 15-15 rule. Eat 15g fast acting carb, wait 15 min and test. If still below 70, repeat. If it still won't come up, repeat. Then follow with a substantial snack.
