I hope I don't come off as insensitive or anything but I figure I could ask here...?
It happened just a day ago, I just started college and suddenly i felt like this strange feeling in both my arms and hands....like its tingly and annoying and it only happens sometimes. Its strange and tingling and I have no idea if its anxiety like my mom said or if its diabetes. No one else in my family has diabetes, I have been eating a lot of sweets these past few months but I'm not really over weight, at least not by much. I have gone to the doctors several times all summer since i sort of...developed health anxiety. I'm really scared right now but im too scared to go to the doctor and get tested for it. Does it sound like I have it? Someone please help.

Hi Feelingstrange welcome to the forum, to me it doesn't sound like it as you stated you just started college I agree with your mother it is just anxiety, have you lost a lot of weight, are you tired all the time and are you urinating more than normal, sounds like to me your stressing about
college too much, the arm thing could be you moved the wrong once and could have slightly pinch a nerve

Welcome to HealingWell, feelingstrange. Those feelings might be anxiety but you need to see your doctor. Diabetes is diagnosed with blood tests, so in order to rule this out, you need to have some lab tests done. I think not knowing what it is can make you even more nervous about
it.
Please make an appointment to see your doctor and explain all these episodes that you're having. From your descript
ion, it does sound like it's anxiety in my opinion but I'm not a doctor.
Please keep us updated and I hope you're doing better.

Hi feeling strange. I have just been diagnosed with steroid-induced diabetes. I was also scared to go and get tested, but it really is better to know. I have managed to reduce my blood sugar a lot in just a few months and can now aim to control it through diet and exercise. I get the tingling, but only now and then. If you're young, then you're less likely to have it. Better to know ….
Good luck

I don't understand the statement "If you're young, then you're less likely to have it. " what's age got to do with it
