A change of insurance sent my daughter to a new pcp who then referred her to an endocrinologist. This doctor took one look at my 32 year old daughter, with insulin resistant diabetes, premature ovarian failure, blood pressure issues starting and some other signs and symptoms, and promptly ordered extensive tests. The result, she has been diagnosed with Cushings Disease. We are just beginning this journey and wanted to urge others to check and see if they too have more than just diabetes going on. Cushings has 3 primary causes, a pituitary tumor, adrenal gland tumors or steroid use. We're pretty sure hers is pituitary and since that is the 'master gland' has caused her diabetes. Since there is no forum for Cushings, I hope you will allow me to share her progress here.
