Normal Levels of BS

Personal topics are the reason for this site. 80 to 90 is excellant range. As normal as it can get. You would have to drop to below 65ish to get into the hypo range. That range is different for different people, a little anyway.

We all strive for such numbers......

Wonerful numbers.Two points here.

1)Are you really a diabetic(Just teasing)?In overweight guys like you and i,hyperinsulinemia,at least in the early stages will keep the sugars low.It's just a compensatory mechanism to overcome insulin resistance,and sometimes it overdoes the job,leading to low values!

2 )More sinister,in a person who had high glucose levels if they suddenly start falling and the person starts experiencing hypos,endo's want to rule out malignancies,especially of the liver.I lost my father-in-law that way.A bitter lesson!

Dear AM_BD,
your excellent control with diet alone itself indicates a very good food regimen.If we factor in the rice(which you like so much)as the carbs component of your diet,stick to it and enjoy your rice!
Secondly,your exercise must be helping you a lot to keep those numbers where they are.

Thirdly i cannot but appreciate the positive attitude you have and it's a welcome infection to all of us;believe me!

I don't think you are in any tunnel,with your attitude you are soaring high over verdant vista's.Enjoy the trip!

As usual jeannie has hit the nail on it's head!Control solutions should be a regular part of glcometer readings.If your control solution has expired and before getting a new one,what i would suggest to AM_BD is to do a fasting,one hour pp,one and half hour pp and finally a two hour pp to check for the trend you expect.My 2 pennies worth of advise.
