Hello Daniel and welcome to HealingWell. I understand the disbelief of diagnosis because I was very unhappy years ago when my blood tests all pointed to diabetes. However, in my case diabetes is in my mother's side of the family and it was only a matter of time. In fact, both my brother and sister have diabetes, too.
You need to understand that food and drink has a direct impact on blood sugar. Simply put, the more carbohydrates we eat, the higher our blood sugar will go. Carbs include: rice, potatoes, bread, any food made with flour or sugar. The best diet for diabetics would be: vegetables, leafy greens (lettuce, spinach, for example), proteins (any meat or fish), nuts, whole milk products in small amounts, some fruits like berries (again in small amounts), cheese.

yourself, I can give you more advice and information. Do you have any family members with diabetes? What food do you eat for meals?
