wbisme: Thank you very much for your response and concern. You are correct in the fact regarding the neuropathy. His Dr. in Tulsa told us. Bob had been doing well up until last yr. when he found a hernia. On Mar. 6th of this yr., I had a huge tumor on my adrenal gland, both tumor and gland were removed. I begged to come home early. The night I came home, all Bob did was to get up to get my meds, and the hernia burst. He was deathly ill, and in putting him in the hospital is when we found out about the diabetes.
No one else in his entire family has it. My mother developed type II at 55. I should have recognized the symptoms but did not. I cannot tell you how bad I feel about that. He has a good out look concerning the diabetes, however, he is depressed due to the fact that he cannot work yet. Plus wondering if the diabetes will hinder him being hired again.
I read your response to him and he is happy to know that he isn't alone with this! He will hopefully get to talk to you himself soon. Just to give you an idea of how weak he is, he is 6'2 and usually weighs in at 250. Now he weighs 164 1/4. It takes all his strength to get up out of bed, but he is doing it!! I'm trying to read through all the posts as much as I can. My time is not really my own yet. Thank you again for being friendly to us "new comers!" Blessings to you and yours!
