Sorry I haven't been around. I have been down with a stomach virus. Last night I spent the evening in the ER. I was severely dehydrated. Because I couldn't keep anything down my blood sugar was dropping. I was able to cut back my basal rate on my pump and keep my blood sugars between 80-140 through the whole thing. I'm still weak and achy but at least I never lost contol of my blood sugars.

You poor thing. I hope you're feeling better. Are you able to eat anything now? Chicken soup? Broth? Through all this and you were able to control the blood sugar? That's amazing - congratulations! Get well soon.

WOW ... sorry to hear about
your illness! I really hate being sick because of what it does to my BS and then wrecks my A1C! I'm glad you're doing better now. Rest up!!!

Awww, AMM.. so sorry you're out of sorts. I had the 48 hr. variety of the local stomach bug and it sure knocks the stuffing out of you. Take your time getting better. Super sugars for being so sick... but no fun going to the hospital! Take care.

It was really a blessing to be on the pump through this. I just tested often and adjusted my pump according to my results. The doctors didn't even try to do anything with my insulin. Just before they discharged me the doctor came in to talk with me. He said he was very impressed with how I handled my blood sugars. He was surprised that I had only been on the pump for a few months though. He said I needed to come to the hospital because I was so dehydrated but that I did wonderfully with my blood sugars. They had a lot of trouble even drawing my blood. I'm still feeling weak and a bit queasy but I'm getting better. I am not eating much but I am holding down what I do eat. I wasn't even able to hold down water when I went to the hospital.

One step closer to invincibility eh, AMM? Glad to hear things are on the up-swing and Kudos to you for the blood sugar control! You should be proud
Take care...
