I find my Atkins products at WalMart in the diet section. You have to read the labels- some atkins products have more carbs than others. I have tried both Zone and Balance bars and they have too many carbs for me anthough some of them taste okay.
There is also a diabetes product called Extend that you can get a the pharmacy- they are supposed to sustain you without spikes because they contain cornstarch- they taste awful and anything that comes from corn seems to do me in.
I also drink the Boost glucose control chocolate shake- I blend it up with some Walden FArms chocolate syrup, a portion of protein powder and ice for a thick frothy shake in the car when I'm really running late.
Vitamin World (online and retail) sell these kit-kat like protein bars that are nice and portable. I have a stick (90 calories, 2 gr carb 8 gr protein) when I'm craving candy bars. They are called Oh Yeah!- and they make a bunch of different kinds- so you have to read the label- but I think all of the wafer types are low carb.
http://www.protocookie.com/ sells these 'diabetic safe' cookies that are so good. They are carb/protein balanced, taste like the real thing and don't spike my sugar. They are very pricey though. I went to a local health fair and tasted them there- I kept begging them for a whole one to take home- lol I won a whole box of them when they picked names at the end of the show. I relish them.
