Anybody seen the inhaled insulin ads on TV?

When they first talked about inhaled insulin I was thinking it would be a nasal spray... This stuff is an inhaled POWDER! And it has a list of lung and breathing side effects as long as your arm... Does anyone know someone who has tried this?

Doesn't make any sense to me... But then I don't have any problem with my shots after the first one and have mild asthma. The thought of inhaling something into my lungs that's not my asthma inhaler scares the bejabers out of me.

I think I might just be being a big baby. sad

Aside from really nasty side effects, this delivery method has MAJOR problems.  There are NO DOSAGE levels.  Its kinda like going to Micky D's.  You get regular and "supersize" me.  Thats right, it only comes in regular and "large" doses.  Now for anyone that's take insulin that should be a huge warning sign right there!!!  How can you control your doseage if there IS NO dosage!!!   OK OK....lets go one step further.  You take a hit off this inhaler thingy!!!  How much insulin did you just absorb??  And how fast did it get into your blood stream.  No one knows for sure including the manufacturers!!!

This is a really really scarey way to take insulin and Im surprised the FDA even allowed this onto the market!  I would recommend that NO ONE even try this method let alone contemplate using it on a regular basis.

Personally, I would NEVER consider this method. With all the "unknowns", I'm surprized it even made it to market.
