Is anyone getting and or has VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulater)

Hello I'm in the process of possibly getting a VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulater) I want to know if there's anyone out there who's had one put in them or is in the same process.

Hi there and Welcome to HealingWell,

I have not had the VNS implant as I am very well controlled by medications but I want to re-assure you that it has a good success rate and I know that there are people out there on HW that have had or are considering the VNS implant so hopefully you will get some more information on that soon.

Hi RatFink138,
I do have the VNS implant.I had it done about 3 years ago and between my brain surgery,and the VNS my seizures are MUCH better than they use to be.The VNS it's self is no big deal.At first it's a little hard to get use to cause when it comes on I would cough,my voice would sould horse,but as time went on you get use to it and don't know it's there unless they turn it up.So really I think depending on the type of seizures you have,and if your Neur.is recommending it then I think it's a great thing.Good luck.

Hi, Are you considering VNS for depression or epilepsy? I just had one implanted for depression which will be turned on tomorrow. I'm hoping to find other people who have the VNS for depression.
