Today my 4 yearold grandson underwent surgery to remove a benign (but growing) tumor that had caused him to have epilepsy to a debilitating degree (a dozen or more seizures a day, at times).
The surgery lasted 7 hours and it has been a very difficult day waiting for news and worrying. Most upsetting of all has been the story of his comment immediately before going into the operating theatre. "Daddy, is it time for my operation, now?" "Daddy, I dont want it, I am scared"
Thankfully he is recovering now in the intensive care unit, after apparently successful removal of the tumor. However, he cannot feel or move his right arm. He is pumped full of morphine and other drugs and perhaps I should wait and see if the sensation returns, but has anyone out there got experience of something similar, and did the sensation return or not? It has been a long day and I would appreciate your help -
