 I was reading through these messeges just now at work, and I had one of my seizures - it happens all the time.  They are at random times, where ever, and whenever. And this is how: 

I fell, I guess you can say, a DeJa Vu coming on and it starts off as a weak "sensation" in my head and then gets stronger and stronger.  But as it climaxes, I feel aware of what is going on around me.  But b/c I do not want others see me go through it I always get up and go into the bathroom.  I usually need to put my head down into my hands and close my eyes b/c I feel sick to my stomach for a few secs until its over.  They last no longer than 10 secs and some seizures are not as strong as others.  The weaker ones, I try to look at myself in the mirror to see if I do any strange things or look any different but I do not see anything.  WEIRD!

But my fiance will say different.  He has seen me go through a few before.  When he has he said I smacked my lips together, or have snapped my fingers continuiously. So now when I feel one coming on I will turn my head from everyone I can, sit on my hands, and make sure my lips covered shut.  Or just leave the room of course for a few secs if at all possible.  Anyone else go through this???

I know a big part of SP's are smacking the lips, tugging at clothing, doing repetative motions like that.

That will really explain things to you. It was the best site ever when I was first diagnosed. I don't really think you are very aware you are doing this during the SP. Are you on meds? I hope you can fix the problem soon . Take Care, Tracy

Epilepsy ontario is very good. SOmetimes their things are a little out dated. (they list nocturnal E as highly uncommon and that is no longer true for example)

It does sound like a Complex partial with the snapping, lip smacking and things. Hoping you can figure it out. Did you call your neuro since this is a change for you?

Sounds very similar to my experiences. Starting about a year ago, I was having simple partials in the mornings just after or during my shower when I would feel the sensation and close my eyes and and "see" a familiar scene - same one each time - but it wasn't really anything I could identify from my life. Then I began smelling a certain smell each time - again, I couldn't really tell you what the smell was, butit was the same each time. Then about 2 months ago, during a very stressful and sleepless period, I began having complex partials in the night. I would wake myself up smacking my lips together and feel kind of stiff. And after all of these I would be just exhausted.

Have you been to the neurologist? Had an MRI or EEG?

My EEG showed evidence of seizure activity, but MRI was clean.

I'm having good luck with Trileptal so far, but I'm trying to figure out the best dosage. I really want to be able to drive again! I've had great support from the other moms from the preschool where my kids go, and from neighbors willing to drive me around, but I do not like to be reliant on others! I live in the suburbs of Washington, DC. If it were just me, I would be on my bike, but I've got 2 four-year-olds to lug around with me!

I have been to 2 neurologists and have been on about 3 diff. meds. I have had I beleive both an EEG an MRI and one of them showed a scar on my Temporal Lobe which they believed was from my mom giving birth to me.
But anyways....None of my meds have been working but the two I am on now - Lamictal, and Topamax have the least amount of side effects. So I need another alternative b/c my life style now is not working for me..I am 24, getting married, and cannot drive whch is just not cutting it. I have other medical problems as well - diabetes and hypothyodism.

Sorry I dont mean to sound like I am venting or feel sorry for myself - I just hate relying on others to try to live a life - you know? PLease help!!!
