Hi All-

Well, my big day is coming.  I have finally recieved a call from the neurosurgeon's office and have been booked for surgery to remove my left temporal lobe angioma in the third week of June. Although I live with my husband and kids in Colorado,  I have decided to go back home to New England to be near my family for the surgery.  So, now all I have to do is get plane tickets and I'm all set. 

I've been going down this road a long time and I think I can finally see some light at the end.  You all have helped me so much - I can relate to so many of you and your experiences.  Finally, I KNOW that there are others like me.

If anyone has any words of wisdom or advise, PLEASE tell me anything that might help me to cope before or after the surgery.   I'll listen with open ears!  Thanks so much,

glad ya got it schedule Glenda.Hope you have as much luck as I did 13 years ago.there isn't a lot of pain so don't worry to much about that.prayers are with you and your family

Best wishes that this will give you a great outcome.....Hoping that the resection goes very well. I know tht others have said to leave the meds alone until 1-2 years after the surgery....

Glenda,I have a picture somewhere in this apartment of all the staples in my head the day after surgery.my little brother wanted me to send him a pic to him so I made sure to make a couple of copies. I wore a hat like this one smurf for a while to hide the staples.I went to my family reunion 6 days after surgery but they wouldn't let me get in the boat and go fishing.dern family.June in Texas is pretty hot so I didn't stay more than a couple hours and went home to my AC.So you will be out and about in no time.be sure and post a reminder when it gets close.you know none of us can remember anything.I just haven't figured out if it is because of all the seizures I had back then or because I am getting older confused .

Thanks,  I do have shoulder length hair that will hide the "evidence".  But I suspect if I need a hat my family will probably be willing to get me one as a post-operative present!  Boston is pretty hot and humid in the summer but luckily my family has AC and I know where I'll be most of the time.  My sister said she was going to chronicle everything on a video before and after as a diary sort of thing - so we could look back on it later, in case I forgot.  Or maybe just for laughs!  I like posting here, but I'm Really looking forward to posting about my recovery and beyond...
