That friend doesn't know jack about what it is like to have epilepsy, and hopefully isn't stupid enough to still be of that opinion.
Don't let it get to you buddy, I am going through a wee phase myself of realizing that one of my friends is not the friend I thought he was.
Well, Now she has to know. Because she had major brain surgery for Hydrocephalus, and as a result of the surgery, she also has Epilepsy. Now her intentions of learning how to drive, will have to be put on hold indefinitely. When I thought about
getting a drivers' license, years ago, the state medical board told me I had to be seizure-free(controlled by anti-convulsants) for five consecutive years. By the time the five-year mark came around, I had come to the conclusion that there are far too many idiots' behind the wheel, and I did not want to have my Epilepsy used as an excuse to blame me, instead of the other driver causing an accident. So, Instead, The majority of the time, I travel by my Tour de France-style racing bike, regularly 'taking the lane', in high-volume traffic(no I do not ride on the interstate, that is illegal).
I think my friend is realizing, with her new health problems, she can't live life the exact same way she could, before she became sick. She is still a fighter. But, She will have to reevaluate what she can, and cannot do.
