I am wondering if any one else has experienced De Ja Vu then spaceing out but not going into a full Seizure this has happened to me twice now confusedand now unless i am going to work i dont want to leave my house because i dont want to worry any one with my "conditions",last time was 3 weeks ago then another one happened this labor day weekend this time with my son and best friend i know i use to only have grand mal seizures but they were very controlled i am on Dilantin and fluoxetine for my panic attacks.As of August 31rst DSHS took my medical away saying i make too much money,I hope there is another program i will find out about on Friday because i need routine blood draws and Dr appoint ments but who can afford that I guess I am looking for advice and for some one out there to tell me i am not the only one haveing these.

i guess it must be common, because my former neurologist, who wasn't very educated in epilepsy, said, "Well tell me if u get Deja Vu". I've had it real bad & pretty often until I switched drs & went to a specialist.With the increase in meds it doesn't happen near as often. it's a creepy feeling, then i have to ask whomever i'm with about this happening before.

Thank you so much for replying and now my medical insurance ran out we raised my dose of dilantin right before it ended i am over due for a blood dram so kind of stressed but yes its the de ja vu then i guess i space out but this time not a fool seizure

Deja Vu has become a regular part of my life, it gets real bad at times, I find myself completely lost at the most inconvenient moments. The weirdness/spacing out is the real kicker, I'm right in the middle of it now and feel like bashing my head on the wall to make it stop. It's a very unfortunate side to epilepsy, not all that fun explaining to complete strangers why the odd behaviour etc. Can't watch tv, read a book, even talking to people can become very distressing, the conversation just keeps bouncing around my head, getting louder by the second. Sitting in a dark quiet room can help, sleep usually follows quickly, just unfortunate when in public such as work etc, I run my own business which can get difficult, sometimes just have to go into autopilot and hope for the best.

wondering if u guys have frontal lobe like i do, always wondered about frontal as if maybe there are similar symptoms which temperal lobe doenst have as much

Check this out: I was watching The Discovery Channel and they were talking about the evolution of the brain. Turns out everyone has micro seizures, and a certain micro seizure cause Deja Vu. Neat.

I often have this, and it mimics my absence seizures, which often become rapid just before a tonic-clonic seizure, so it causes me great anxiety. And I often become scared or want to cry, especially when I'm in public or talking to someone.

Yes it is the most awful feeling when you feel so alone I was recently in a car accident On Wednesday July 31rst-They weaned me off of Dilantin and put me on Keppra I think I may be having more problems with the Keppra,I have a dr appointment today at 4:30 thank good ness the officer who arrived at the scene after my accident said "NO MORE DRIVING" so I am just depressed :(((((

Well saw my Dr.things went ok she started me on a second seizure medication to take with the Keppra "ZONEGRAN",and I have to call department of licensing tomorrow and ask if a hold has been put on my liscence she also said my neurologist will be mad for takeing a extra medicine but I guess I will call him too and let him know feel so alone and ashamed:(

I'm new, so this will be quick. My first seizure came at age 31 and when the 2nd one hit, they did a test and found out I had my first brain tumor. I then was put on Dilantin. BT was removed. 2nd Tumor hit when I was 46, and then the phenobarb was added and tumor taken out. The third one happened 4 years ago, (#3tumor removed)and now I'm having the kind of seizure where I can't talk or write. I think I preferred my other ones. Hopefully, now that my pills have been increased I can go with the seizures. Unfortunately I can't drive and I used to be a busy person with my business and driving. Now I sit at home and just watch the birds. I'm so glad tho that I keep my husband busy...lol.

Hi SunnySkyJan, I am new here but can already see from your post that there are people worse off. Can't imagine having 3 BT's. I have had epilepsy all my life(am 45 yr. old) so can't really point to a reason for it but for the past 20 yrs. I only had seizure's when I slept but about a week ago, I had one as I was taking my daughter to school( luckily it hit right before I shifted into gear) and so now at 45 I am once again back to not driving and wondering if my seizures are going to continue to get worse as I age. I am retired from my old job that I had for 23 yrs. and had just started up a business doing repair and restoration on antique furniture, but look's like that is a done deal being I cannot drive. Really gettin tired of this thing.

Thank you for your reply. There are so many people who know me and can't believe I'm still alive, so that is my best line for the day! lol 10 years ago, I also had Non-Hodgekins <spelling> Lymphoma, went through the Chemo and am still fine. Go figure! Guess God doesn't want me in Heaven. I know how you feel though, as when I get my "sign" of a seizure coming it makes me so mad!!! Good thing its at night and I don't tell anyone! So far, my last warnings have been just that...so for about 10 minutes I'm affected also with upset stomach...& close to vomiting. I eat about 2 tums and that helps. I had one of those episodes last night, and I know my husband would make me go to my neurologist to have it checked out with a CT scan...and at 65 I would prefer not to find out that it grew back. Thanks again for your reply!
