I began my first seizure when I was 31 and it turned out to be a brain tumor.  I've had 2 tumors since then, and when I started having seizures again...they found out its #4.  I have not seen any one on here with Brain Tumors causing seizures and was just curious.  I go to Mayo Clinic for my surgeries and they do a fantastic job.  I'm having to hope they will be just as good on this one, as now I'm 65 and thankful to God for keeping me alive this long.

Boy, Jan, you sure have been through a lot. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this but it's wonderful you have such a strong faith in God. My faith has helped me immensely over my lifetime and I'm 66 now so we are close in age.

I am not usually on this forum but saw your post and wanted to let you know I'll be putting you on my prayer list for your next surgery. I'll be praying not only for an extremely successful surgery but also a long life. Do let us know how everything turns out because we do care about you.

Sometimes I feel no one believes me as I've been through 3 brain tumors (now 4) and Gerd and Non-Hodgekin's Lymphoma (10 years ago) and am still alive. Thanks so much for your answer as I really appreciate it. I so appreciate your prayers also. I keep wanting to stay home and not even go to church, but after hearing from you I better break down and go with my husband Sunday. You know how it is...you ask God ... "WHY"...after all you've done for him. I had played the piano for the church most of my life, and started a business at 31. To think I had the first brain tumor at 31 never ceases to amaze me that I finally got that one paid off, and kept my business going (with a lot of help) for over 30 years. I'm retired now, and my son took the business over. Praise God for a son who is definitely a business man! (PS: Now I truly believe in Insurance)!!!! :-)

God isn't causing this. He came so we may have life and have it more abundantly. He obviously has given you strength! You are a fighter and you are beating all odds! You also are a testimony for God. I feel I am too. I have many illnesses but I use this to help others. I understand suffering first hand. I'm sure you do too! But, I too wil ask "why" when I'm face to face with Him. LOL

Don't feel badly about the lack of responses on this forum. The epilepsy forum isn't a very active forum, I don't think. It could be a slow time for all, too.

Now, do head back to church and get a fresh infusion of faith. It truly will help you to feel better. I am profoundly deaf in the high range of sound so understanding speech is difficult. I have to read lips. Because of this. I don't go to church anymore because I can't understand what is being said ...or sung for that matter. I, too, was very active in my church...choir, and Sunday school teacher...but now certain TV ministries are what I depend on. You are blessed to be able to go so do take advantage of it.

Now, don't forget to let us know how you are doing, okay?

Hi Sherrine, I know I have a LOT to be thankful for, and I'm ready to go...but going is the hard part! LOL
I also have tinnitus so it is very hard for me to be involved in church as everything seems to echo in my head and I'm afraid then that I'll have a seizure. I think it would make my husband happier if I went to church with him, but I find it so unnecessary as I feel that God is with me at home. I listen to a lot of Devotions here at home, and I play the piano and feel like I'm still worshipping God. Can you imagine what I do not like at church? My husband has put my name in the Bulletin and everyone acts afraid of me, except for a few. My heart is broken over a friend of mine that does go to church, and he doesn't have long to live. I was so shocked when I heard about it, and then I think...hmmmm...that must be the way people feel about me! LOL Thanks so much for your reply. Jan Keen

Good Morning,  I cannot possibly understand what it is like to have a brain tumor much less your 4th one but I do know it happens.  I also know there are miracles and I pray your next surgery is as successful as your previous surgeries.

To know you are receiving your care at Mayo makes me feel good for you as Mayo has performed miracles with the help of God.

I  have a good friend that was dx with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma 6 years ago and she is doing well, still working full time.  Her Mother died years ago from Hodgkin's, 37 years ago, as they did not have the treatment options that are available now. My friend's sister was dx with Hodgkin's in 1989 and made a full recovery. Now my friend has made a full recovery from Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

I will keep you in my prayers. I am also following you in the GERD Forum as that is one of the forums I moderate.  Please know someone in MN is keeping a close eye on you.

Jan, I think people really care about you and what's happened with these brain rumors but they just don't know what to say. They might just feel helpless. I don't think they are afraid of you..just stymied about what to say to you. People genuinely want to help others but your situation is so unusual that they are at a loss for words. But I'm sure many are praying earnestly for your total recovery.

As Kitt mentioned, you are going to one of the top hospitals in the world and that is excellent! If anyone can knock this out of you, they can! Yes, miracles do happen....daily.
