Thumb spasm for over 24 hours now

Hi this may sound silly or a little trivial, but I had to ask.  Since I woke up yesterday (8am or so) My thumb has been twitching without any stop.  It is very odd to me.  I took a magnesium supplement last night with no result.  I don't know if it is added stress from the nursing program or what.  The most twitches I had ever had was maybe a series of 20... never over 24 hours!!  Any advise?  Thanks Tracy

Sounds so frustrating! I have had muscle twitches like that are intermittent but not non stop.

I would call the doctor tomorrow and see what he thinks. It could be stress. I sure hope it just stops on its own! other wise I would give the doctor a buzz and see what he thinks!

Hi guys.. It is frustrating. I am thinking it may be from all of the notes I have been taking in school this week. I feel like I call the neuro with the stupid questions. In the scheme of things it isn't major, but quit annoying. I will take another magnesium and see what happens. Maybe I was just depeleted LOL. Thanks for the kind replies. I didn't really know what the difference between normal spasms, and seizure related spasms. Like myoclonics what is the diff? I guess Ill never know. TTYS Take care and thanks. Tracy

I am still twitching! I took another magnesium. I will wait until tomorrow to call the dr. I wonder if this is normal to twitch or if it is epilepsy related. Thanks Tracy

I just feel stupid calling him over something like this, though it must be neurologic. I don't know what to do. But it is still going. Thanks..

Not stupid at all!! I am so sorry it is still going on. If you feel more comfortable, call your PCP and ask what he thinks you should do or what it might be!

I put a call into the Neuros office today.  I figured 4 days straight gave me the right to question it.  His assistant told me she would talk to him and get back to me tomorrow.  I will update you.  Thanks alot & take care, Tracy
