new to forums

Hello...I have had epilepsy since I was about 9yrs old....luckily mine are absent(petit mal)seizures...I had spinal meningitis as a baby and quit breathing. Doc said I would have some brain damage...ended up w/ epilepsy. I also suffer from depression which has been most of my life. My life was fairly normal...ok not so normal...til I was 28. I was pregnant and at the end of my nine months, delivered a boy c-section emergency style as I was bleeding. two days after I was home, ended up w/ blood clot in my lung(later tested w/ factor V leiden mutation). Blood clotting disorder. Five years later...pregnant again...had another emergencey C-section as a virus made me sick(as well as oldest son)had 4 units of blood as hemoglobin down to 2. Basically having an anemic crisis. Ended up in hospital a week w/ antibiotics. One year later had spleen and gall bladder out(this anemic disorder has to do w/ spleen and goes bad). A year later began getting ill...so diagnosed w/ Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue...the virus didn't go away but went into bone marrow...uff'da. Had IVIG therapy as a result of low white counts...Recently having migraines, hormonal imbalances, can't remember anything. Went to doc and he thinks I could have endometriosis. Well sums up my med probs til now. Any feedback would be great. Am glad to be here. Kota

As Carla has already said, HW is segmented into different illnesses and you will find each of them a useful source of information and experience. (Follow the Resource Link at the top of the specified page). I also Moderate depression so I get a pretty broad spectrum of experiences and from what you have said, you may find some comfort there too as well as the Fibro Forum.

My epilepsy is stress induced and is Grand-Mal. I had to surrender my driving licence following a car accident where I was the driver and had a seizure. That was in June 2006. Then in December 2006 I had a seizure and broke 3 teeth on a kerbstone. So I am able to re-apply for my licence in December 2007. (Not long now!) Well thats a brief history on me and as Carla has said, I seem to know quite a bit (through experience, readings and being a Psychology student!) so if you want to know something about Epilepsy or associated drugs, I should be able to help.

As for the endomitriosis, I do have some experience here. (Obviously not personally! ) My sister has it and your symptoms do fit... HOWEVER, they also fit a lot of other Gynological problems so I would get a second opinion on that one... preferrably by a specialist.

I know what you mean, Kota. Hearing from others who have epilepsy normalizes it a bit. I'm not in a place where I can forget about it (holding out hope I will be soon, though). Still, I'm counting my blessings - I do have a lot of them. From one new member to another - welcome!
