I was so happy when my wife showed me this site, she has ibs, endo, and epi, I have severe epi. My history is i was born without a right frontal loab. this was not found until i was 29, but im a bit ahead of the story. I was from an early age a scholastically challenged lad, ok, truth to tell i road the little yellow school bus. I dont say this to belittle anyone or make light of others disabilities, but if i cant laugh at my problems as a child i would have probably given up a long time ago. Either way, i had severe learning disabilites, and was in special education, heck i couldnt even remember my phone number(truth to tell it takes me about a year to memorise it to this day). But another interesting thing was occuring at this age. I was experiencing what my friends and siblings called "cooties". they were jerking motions, usually in the morning or when i was tired. my mother and aunts called them growing pains, but in hindsight it was denial. It is funny in hind sight thinking of all the bowls of cornflakes that were mysteriously flung across the kitchen. Either way I continued to have these, with no rhyme nor reason. I believe my first grandmal occured when i was 16, but comming from a very poor area, with poor education, and a community (hispanic) that generally didnt have alot of faith in doctors for things that were not bleeding. to make a long story short, i crashed my first car, i thought i fell asleep because i was working long hours at a slave driving dounutt shop! One other point i would like to point out, i also seemed to have this kinda stutter, not like a tradition stutter, but like i was trying to remember what i was thinking(later found out was pe***). Either way funny thing happened when i was going through puberty.........I want from being the class dummy to the school einstien. It had to do with the deformity and synaptic connections. this didnt mean i could remember my phone number or address, but i counld now understand advanced and abstract concepts. I guess it also helped i always watched ol 50's 60's science fiction films and wanted to be a scientist and even though i was dumb as moss growing my familly always said i could do anything. Now fast forward to age 25, no more grandmals, but still have pesky jerks, managed to do a stint in the army......then not a couple of weeks out, wham.....epi hits me full force....guess my body didnt like the fact it went from being healthy as a gazelle to a sloth. since then i have had weeks where seizures have plauged me, and went a couple of years with just stutters and occassional jerk, ive wrecked 2 cars. Ive also broke my back twice from the violence of my siezures, and every....EVERY single clonic tonic leaves me in bed for at least 3-4 days(assuming i dont break anything). The upside, durring all this time and the ups and downs ive managed to become a nuclear instrumentation engineer(ok may not be a rocket scientist, but it close), ( did my last semister in college in a turtle shell due to broken back, my wife learned alot about things she had no clue about lol), Ive been to every continent on the planet exept Antarctica. so even though i hate E, if you want to smile give me a Holler
