Heres a weird question Im asking it anyway

 I get bouts of hiccups at night in my sleep. Sometimes they last hours. Last night I had a cluster that went on for about 4 hours my husband said. I pretty much sleep through them. I am exhausted any more. I would wake up and realize I had them and roll over and go back to sleep. My neuro told us at one of my appointments that hiccups come from the vagus nerve being stimulated. Well how does it get stimulated and I have also heard that hiccups can be a sort of warning to some people for seizures it makes me wonder if I could be having seizures in my sleep, altough I never have hiccups before seizures when I am awake, so I guess that is stretching it. Just wondering if anyone else has any input on this.  Monte

Its very odd for three nights now I have had these extended bouts of hiccups, and do not know what is causing them. I am going to the epilepsy clinic and I hesitate to mention them there because I don't want to sound like a bg weirdo. It is starting to seem to be fairly significant. Should I make a appointment with my GP instead and keep the hiccups to myself at my epilepsy appointment? Monte

If there is a point that it seems appropriate in the appointment DDZ I will ask, because it is really starting to bug me just by the 'how come' factor. Monte
