I don't have epilepsy but my son does. I don't know if what you are experiencing are seizures but it doesn't sound normal. My son has had seizures in his sleep. He knew when he woke up because he had bitten his tongue and his muscles were all tensed. If I were you I would get a second opinion from another neurologist because you could be having seizures in your sleep. Just because one dr. says she doesn't think so doesn't mean it's not happening. If you are having seizures in your sleep you may need you meds adjusted or need to take a different one. A second opinion is always worthwhile. If you are not feeling things are right I wouldn't just take the word of this neurologist. I would explore this situation further. Are you on any anti seizure meds? Have you had a recent EEG? These are all things to consider. Hope this helps you.
