Hi everyone-
Well --if it isn't one thing...it;s another-
Starting to get--from time to time...strange "Pre-sleep" body jerks (arms..legs...fingers...trunk...even my jaw snapped one nite)----Once i'm asleep --I'm OK---!
I had two sleep studies done..nothing abnormal--! Now..this is NOT....."Hypnic jerks"-!
I'm talking about ...also--strange mild... "electric shock" feelings thru my body--
I e-mailed my sleep specialist Dr----almost begging him...to see me again--
He did call me up.....& suggested I call a well known neurologist....(head of Hospital Neurology Dept)--who specializes in epilepsy & seizures! This Dr. said he had a patient recently with similar symptoms..& it could be "partial complex seizure"...!
I did a search on this...("Partial Complex Seizure"..)----& it does NOT sound like what I get!
Anyway---realize this ONLY happens.....at nite --right before falling off to sleep-! It does NOT happen every nite...only when I'm feeling.."hyper"...or "wired"---
He gave me the Drs---phone#----& I called & made....appt.....Dec. 21--
I'll be getting an EEG...THEN...Dr. will look at it---& talk w me! MY question--like an EKG..(for the heart)--what if the EEG....shows everything.."normal"......BECAUSE it only happens before...sleep!
Can the neurologist STILL tell--from my EEG...? The tech said..it'll last ONE HOUR!
I'm HOPING I hear from others---who get these "pre sleep".....arm...leg..body...Jaw...jerks! And..NO----it's NOT the "falling feeling"--Everyone gets that! Please---HOPING someone....or more gets back..& helps me understand----
SOooo--IF you have had anything like this...OR let me know HOW the neurologist can READ the EEG.......when I'm NOT feeling these things-! Thanks---I'll be waiting----for some responses--God bless--Robert .
