I know its very late to responding to this but I figured any information is better than none. I had my surgery 5 weeks ago. My doctor mentioned about the vision loss but I did not experience that side effect. He said that it very well could be a permanent loss but will most likely come back in about 5 weeks. I wouldn't worry too much about it as he told me that you very very rarely use that part of your vision. I did not experience any problems. Zero side effects which is very strange. I got on the computer and watched tv the day after I got home. I had a lot of pain but they gave me Vicodin that I supposed to take every 6 hours but I also supplemented that with 2 Tylenol every 3 hours. Wicked bad constipation from the narcotics they were pumping into me in the hospital. I don't know if they gave you a steroid for the swelling of your brain, but it makes you crave certain foods and eat large quantities of them. My craving was sweet foods and I ate the hell out of Starbursts. Other than that I moved around, lifted light weights and tried to stay as active as possible to help with the swelling and just improve myself overall. The only thing I wish was different was that the scar would show up more versus just be a small line on my head. It's a great conversation starter and chicks dig scars. Love to hear your story and what you dealt with and how you overcame it.
