possibly a seizure symptom?

It appears you and I have had similar experiences. I too grew up with complex partial seizures and also had brain surgery in 2001. I was seizure free, or so I thought until May of 2004 when I started experiencing similar feelings as you. Apparently I was wrong as it wasn't a relapse of seizures after all and haven't had any since the surgery.

Instead I learned from an unexpected death in the family at the beginning of this year that Bipolar Disorder ran high in my family and I was having panic attacks. I immediately thought at the time of each incident that it was a relapse of seizures because it was the only feeling that I could relate it too. But after talking to somebody who experiences regular panic attacks and asking them to describe what they feel I was amazed to hear them state every single feeling and symptom I had been experiencing. Shortly there after I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and after research found that a mass majority of seizure meds are also used as mood stabilizers for people who suffer from bipolar. Lamictal is the most popular. So all the medication I had been taking for seizures in my past had basically masked the fact that I was also bipolar.

Now I am not stating that this is the answer is to your question but my best advice for you at this time is to do some digging in your family history and see if bipolar runs in your family genes or even just panic attacks.
