Dr. wants to scan my brain?

shocked Good morning very early here,well I have had seizures for several years now i am now 36.My Dilantin level is currently "high"a 28.Yesterday when I talked with my Dr.(by phone)I told her my spells have been happening more frequent,
We talked before about maybe changeing my seizure meds med but i was nervous to do so for the transition over but I think maybe my body has become immune to Dilantin?Now she speaks of haveing my brain re scanned does any one know if this is a good precedure to do? CHYCHY

Usually the reason for a brain scan is to rule out things other than epilepsy that my cause seizures, like a tumor or something.  it is a simple procedure where you lay on a table and go into a tube and they do a quick scan.  It is similar to an MRI, but much quicker...maybe a couple of minutes as apposed to an hour.

Oh Annie yes you have helped me so much my worry tho i need it done with haveing no insurance is the cost I called the dr office back and could only leave a message never heard back yet butt told them to make sure my dr under stands i have no health insurance right bnow DSHS says i am"over=income"and "I dont meet the age requirements to be eligible for any of there medical programs:(
